I'm still pretty new to RF, even though I've been using it since RF2.5. Is RF necessary for the whole shot/sim or can it be used more effectively as part of a comp and does that cut down on the required sim - things like that all need to be considered. High resolutions, tweaking of your settings, offset bin loaders, optimising the simulations and so on. Good things come to those who wait (supposedly). Multiply that by the number of particles you're using and the number of frames you're trying to simulate and it works out to be a very long time. Calculating physical properties for one particle and how it relates to those around it takes some number crunching.
